Editorial Policy
This policy explains how MyF1Status approaches its public educational content.
Purpose and scope
MyF1Status publishes general educational information to help international students organize questions, dates, documents, and possible next steps. Content is not legal advice and does not decide whether a person is eligible for an immigration benefit or maintaining lawful status.
Perspective
The product is informed by firsthand experience navigating the F-1 student journey. That experience helps identify where clearer organization may be useful, but it is not presented as a professional credential or a substitute for qualified, case-specific advice.
Source hierarchy
For federal rules and processes, primary official sources take priority, including USCIS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and SEVP resources, official forms, and official form instructions. School procedures can add institution-specific requirements, so students should confirm those with their designated school official. Case-specific questions may require qualified immigration counsel or an employer's authorized immigration team.
MyF1Status summaries are secondary educational aids. If a summary differs from current official instructions, the official source controls.
Review and updates
We review content when we make meaningful product or editorial changes, identify a relevant change in official guidance, or receive a credible correction. We do not claim real-time monitoring or a fixed review schedule. Time-sensitive details should always be checked against the current official source.
Corrections
If you find content that may be inaccurate, outdated, or unclear, email support@myf1status.com. Please include the page and the statement in question. We will review the report and update affected content when a correction is supported.
MyF1Status is for educational and planning purposes only. It is not legal advice. Always confirm immigration decisions with your DSO or a qualified immigration attorney.
